RAČUNALNIŠKA MIŠKA

Računalniško miško je že leta 1964 izdelal Douglas Engelbart (idejo zanjo pa je razvijal vse od leta 1961), raziskovalec na inštitutu Stanford Research iz Kalifornije. Mala lesena škatlica s kolesci (kroglice in optika so prišli na vrsto pozneje), kablom in enim gumbkom je bila le delček (stranski produkt) mnogo večjega projekta, na katerem je Douglas Engelbart takrat delal. V začetku sploh še ni nosila današnjega imena. Ime miška ji je dal Bill English šele leta 1965 v svojem delu "Computer-Aided Display Control". Po nekaterih podatkih naj bi Bill English sodeloval tudi pri iznajdbi miške, po drugih naj bi jo le sestavil.

Steve Jobs and LISA Computers

Officially, "Lisa" stood for "Local Integrated Software Architecture", but it was also the name of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs' daughter.
Unfortunately, the floppy drives were slow and unreliable. Because of this, after selling about 6,500 Lisa computers, Apple offered an upgrade path for Lisa owners, replacing the two "Twiggy" drives with a single 400K 3-1/2 inch Sony floppy drive. The new drive holds half as much data as the old one, but is much more reliable.
